Experiential Graphic Designer


Position Location:

This role is located primarily at our Kittery, Maine studio (an hour north of Boston and 45 minutes south of Portland, ME), with a hybrid remote/in-office model.


*** Highly qualified (demonstrated experiential graphic design experience and portfolio) fully remote candidates in the greater New England region will be considered, with understanding that occasional travel to the Kittery office will be necessary.

Position Overview

As an Experiential Graphic Designer at WINTER HOLBEN, your role is to conceptualize and design for the integration of brand, physical, experiential and space planning aspects on our wide-ranging portfolio of projects. You’ll collaborate with clients and a highly creative design team, contributing to all phases of project design and development, from conceptual development through implementation. You are passionate about design, skilled in working within interdisciplinary teams and can develop a brand into the built environment for client projects of all sizes and scopes.


Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and develop creative design concepts by synthesizing client vision and your thorough research and analysis

  • Illustrate concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts

  • Develop a deep understanding of technical aspects and details to create design intent documentation

  • Design, develop and produce environmental graphic design packages to include plans, sections, elevations, specifications, and detail drawings

  • Collaborate with other design staff/disciplines

  • Exercise independent judgement in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques

  • Exhibit an overall commitment to design excellence and industry best practices

  • Apply creative problem-solving every step of the way


Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent education in graphic design

  • 3-5 years of design experience

  • Strong knowledge of the design process

  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web

  • Concrete experience in creating visual identity systems

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

  • CAD tools skills are a plus, but not required

  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and communicate design ideas and direction effectively

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

  • Strong organization, collaboration, communication, and relationship management skills

Compensation & Benefits
  • $70,000 - $90,000 a year, depending on experience
