Position Overview:
NOA BRANDS America Inc. is seeking an experienced Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) Product Designer to join our dynamic, exciting team. This key development role is reserved for the expert designer who executes projects at the highest skill level with an advanced level of discernment. This position is one that can carry out advanced custom development projects in paint, fabric, and other materials both independently and collaboratively. The CMF Product Designer champions product development and communicates with customers both internally and externally and works with company-owned factories and outside vendors throughout the development to the product release process.
This position also assists the management team as they strategize workloads and develop timelines for product releases. This creative, CMF-focused development role requires strong, demonstrated communication skills, confident presentation skills, excellent organization skills, and an unprompted bias for action. Design discernment combined with a comprehensive understanding of finish development and procedural documentation, cost structures, and industry knowledge equips the CMF Product Designer to make positive business decisions. Responsibilities:
CMF development, sampling, procedural documentation, and release for production
Lead meetings, make presentations, and present ideas to the management team
Succinctly communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors/factories
Independently execute design projects with minimal oversight
Facilitate sample and prototype creation and schedule resources accordingly
Proactively troubleshoot and propose solutions
Specify color, finishing materials, and finishing processes for new products
Utilize design software to present concepts and to communicate with engineering and production
Work cross-functionally with creative & development, commercial, engineering, operations, and production
Manage multiple project timelines and update the internal team regularly on the status of commercialization
Escalate issues in a timely and concise manner
Foster teamwork and communication across functional teams
Prepare and maintain technical specifications, and procedures, and finish recipes
Maintain finish sample libraries for internal use and customer presentations
Research new materials, processes, and suppliers
Periodic travel to local vendors and NOA BRANDS Mexico facility is required (up to 10%)
Qualifications:
What it takes to succeed:
Four-year degree in design/art-related field, (fine art, surface design, textile design, fashion design), equivalent related knowledge and experience will also be considered
Minimum of 3 years of CMF design development experience with paint, fabric, and other materials
Photoshop experience required
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the product development and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Excellent constructive critiquing skills
Comprehensive knowledge of paints, fabrics, and other finishes
Comprehensive understanding of procedural processes and finish recipe documentation
Thrives in an evolving, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage and track finite details
Maintains a positive attitude and strong enthusiasm for their work and the products they develop
Bonus Points:
Minimum 2 years of experience communicating with factories and internal customers
PowerPoint, Illustrator, and InDesign experience

Pay: $50,000 – $65,000 annually DOE
