You need to choose one of your existing projects that falls under one of the provided sub-topics. Then, using that project, answer the design inquiries/questions posed by each of the four boards. Each board asks the student to answer a different question about their project.
International students who are currently studying and residing in North America may participate in this award. This includes the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
If your school does not issue students personal email accounts, please register with your personal email address. If we require further verification of your school enrollment, we will send you a message through Submittable.
Your entry should not exceed (4) single-sided, 11" x 17" landscape/horizontal project boards in PDF format. Reference pages are not counted toward your page count.
If you do not have room on your project boards, you may include a reference page at the end of your project. This reference page will not be included in the page count.
You may name your entry file anything you wish. The Submittable system will hide your file name from the review panel, the judges will only be able to see the contents of your PDF.
No, Inspired by Design is not a group/team project.
To ensure fairness and equity in project, scholarship, and award reviews, PAVE uses a blind review panel.
When you submit your entries through the Submittable system, all personal information is concealed from the judges. The review panel can only see the PDF of your project, meaning that your registration form, transcript, and even the file names of your uploaded PDFs will remain hidden from them. Only the competition administrators will have access to this information.
Yes, you can apply for multiple PAVE Scholarships in the same year. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are welcome to apply for any PAVE program, even if you have applied or won before. Each program is reviewed by a different panel of judges.
Yes, recent graduates can participate! You must submit your student or school-based project within 3 months of graduation. For instance, if you graduated in April 2025, you have until July 31, 2025, to submit your project.
