Emerging Designer Stewardship Award

The PAVE International Student of the Season Emerging Designer Stewardship Award recognizes students not just for design merit, but for their contributions to their academic communities. â€‹This includes supporting peers, leading student organizations, volunteering, and going beyond expectations in meaningful ways. 

 

​This quarterly award highlights students who are making an impact beyond their design work.

The Award​

Each quarter, one student is selected to receive:

  • $1,500 USD to support their education

  • Recognition as PAVE Student of the Season

  • Digital assets for portfolios, resumes, and LinkedIn

  • Featured recognition across PAVE’s website and social channels

Who Can Be Nominated​

Nominated students must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a college-level program related to the design of consumer environments, such as Interior Design, Architecture, Visual Merchandising, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, UX/UI, and related fields.

  • Be a full-time student, actively enrolled in 12 credit hours or their program's full-time equivalent.

 

Once nominated, students remain eligible through the end of the calendar year or until graduation, whichever comes first.

How Nominations Work​

This is an educator-driven nomination.

  • Nominations must be submitted by an educator.

  • Self-nominations are not accepted.

What to Include

Educators will be asked to provide:

  • Student name, email, and program/area of study

  • Expected graduation date

  • A short write-up (approx. 300 words)

    • Focus on how the student shows up beyond their coursework.

    • Provide examples of how the student has demonstrated leadership, mentorship, volunteerism, or other community contributions.

What We Look For​

Students are selected based on:

  • Leadership qualities and initiatives within their educational community

  • ​Volunteer work and community engagement​

  • Support and mentorship provided to fellow students​

  • Academic excellence and design capabilities​

  • Potential for future impact in the consumer environment industry

Timeline​

To launch the program, nominations will be open through the end of Fall (Q4):

  • Now - November 30, 2026

  • First Student of the Season announced mid-December

​

Quarterly cycles will follow after the initial award.​

  • Winter - Q1 Nominations: December 1 - February 28; Winner announced mid-March

  • Spring - Q2 Nominations: March 1 - May 31; Winner announced mid-June

  • Summer - Q3 Nominations: June 1 - August 31; Winner announced by mid-September

  • Fall - Q4 Nominations: September 1 - November 30; Winner announced mid-December
