Artist Statement: For this year’s theme, “Bridge to the Future,” I wanted my designs to reflect how I see growth, opportunity, and the connections that make design possible. To me, the bridge is more than a structure; it represents the pathways we create when we move from being students to becoming professionals, and the support systems that carry us forward.
In the first design, I combined a clock, gear, and bridge to capture the elements that shape progress. The clock is a reminder that time is always moving and that our future depends on what we do now. The gear represents innovation and the work it takes to move forward. The bridge ties everything together as the link between learning, creating, and building a career.
The second design is more direct, using bold typography and structural linework to communicate clarity and strength. The scaffolding background reflects the idea of building step by step, while the bold lettering asserts confidence in the future we are shaping as designers.
Both designs are about movement and connection. They reflect how I see myself at this stage, still learning, but also building bridges toward the kind of designer I want to become. This project let me visualize not just a theme, but my own journey of growth and what it means to step into the future with creativity and purpose.
